As the spring season gets started, we are also already looking forward to next year. HYSA is now accepting applications for the ’16-’17 boys’ and girls’ travel team coaches.
Forms are available on the HYSA website at http://www.hollistonsoccer.org/coaches/travel-coach-application/ and should be mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org once completed.
All volunteers interested in head coaching a travel team for ’16’17, either select or non-select, must submit an application by Saturday, April 16, 2016. Upon receipt of all applications, the Travel Coaches Selection Committee (comprised of the HYSA President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Boys’ Travel Coordinator, Girls’ Travel Coordinator and three at-large positions) will convene, review and select coaches based on criteria outlined in the HYSA by-laws. The final decisions of the Travel Coaches Selection Committee will be completed prior to try-outs in May.
HYSA travel begins with select 4th grade teams. There will be one or two select teams per age group & gender, depending largely on the number of players who register and tryout. Select travel teams exist to allow players the opportunity to compete at a level of play that is equal to their ability. Please note, the US Youth Soccer mandated change in age groups becomes effective for the ’16’17 season and in accordance with our BAYS travel league, HYSA will implement by switching to school-grade based groups for all players. 4th graders who aren’t selected for a travel team will be placed on a 3rd/4th grade Intramural team. 5th through 8th grade players will be placed on other 5th, 6th or 7th/8th grade travel teams.
