Presidents Letter
Everyone,
It’s hard to believe Labor Day weekend has come and gone and soon the leaves will be changing, but it’s not entirely a sad thought because with fall comes the Soccer Season. Summer soccer is over, school has started and the fall season begins this weekend September 11th. Welcome to fall soccer in Holliston and a hearty “Thank You” to our new volunteers and coordinators: Clinic Coordinator Robyn Alwani, U8 Girls Coordinator Jim Crews, Coaching Development Paul Goughan and Publicity Director Karen Maki.
I thought I would share a few updates regarding Holliston Youth Soccer (HYSA) and Marshall Street, HYSA’s premier soccer complex. This past summer HYSA upgraded a few items at the soccer complex such as the stairway entrance to the fields. Plantings will begin shortly on the hill to control erosion and the grass fields will be aerated and seeded to maintain the fields for play. For continued enjoyment of the Marshall Street complex, we ask that everyone assist us in keeping it clean and obeying the rules of the complex, which are posted on the website as well as the sign entering the fields. Just a reminder HYSA maintains this complex entirely through fundraising activity to pay down the mortgage which we were able to re-finance recently and we appreciate your assistance.
Speaking of fundraising, our annual Calendar Raffle starts soon and each and every player will be receiving raffle tickets. We are requesting they try to sell at least five tickets each to assist us in purchasing field equipment (nets and goals), balls and equipment for the clinic program and of course assist with Marshall Street maintenance. I thank you all in advance for your support of the Calendar raffle and best of luck in winning. Winners will be posted on the Holliston Soccer website (www.hollistonsoccer.org).
Our annual intramural soccer tournament, “Spookerfest”, will be held October 23rd at Marshall Street where we host a tournament-style day for the Clinic through U10 players. Our Spookerfest Director Bill North will have more details forthcoming for this fun-filled tournament. Another reminder is Picture Day will be October 16th and more information on location and times will be forthcoming. Thank you all for participating in HYSA and enjoy the fall season.

Reminder - Anchor All Goals
Holliston Youth Soccer has a policy that all soccer goals be anchored. This is an important safety requirement.
